Chicken & Pork Mixed Rice

The only place which bring back nostalgic feelings back to me, reminding me when my parents used to take me walking in the afternoon or evening and bring me to this very friendly uncle or aunty who sells packeted of chicken rice or kuih on the back of their bicycle, which we need to take home to consume.

Basically this is what is left of the old culture or view of Kuching City, taken over by the kopitiam and cafes mushroomed all over the whole city.

The place is situated at the 5 foot way of a row of shops somewhere near to 100% Discount Store of Ang Cheng Ho Road.
This uncle has been selling his chicken rice, pork rice and mix rice since a very long time ago.

This is what his “shop” looks like, just a little wooden table with a few pots and buckets. There are no tables and chairs, if you would like to eat there you will have to stand there or you can sit at the stair case near to the store. But normally take aways (ta pao) Open from 11am daily, and end his business at about 1pm as normally all the food had been sold off by then.

See how many people has queued for their packed chicken rice? There was about a total of 12 packets ordered to go when I left with mine.

This is the famous mix rice, which contains white steam chicken, braised pork(lo bak), home made chilly sauce and a drizzle of pork(lo bak) sauce which cost RM4.00. Taste nice.
